Mazda MX-5 Cup: 'First to the Finish' Arrives on Prime Video in 'Drive To Survive' Style

The Mazda MX-5 Cup is one of the most competitive championships in motorsport, with everyone competing in modified racing variants of this charismatic Japanese roadster. Furthermore, it's a category that can serve as a talent incubator, as it's regulated by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and televised or streamed worldwide. This is why many teams scout for young talent in this category.

Now, Amazon, through its Prime Video platform, has decided to partner with the category to create a series in the style of Netflix's 'Drive To Survive'. The series is titled 'First to the Finish'. Unlike the well-known F1 project, 'First to the Finish' will follow the development of the 2024 season for two young drivers, Sally Mott and Heather Hadley. Both competitors will share their journey to the series and their goals. Heather Hadley faces her second season in this category while balancing university and other commitments.

Meanwhile, Sally Mott is making her debut in the category, and for her, racing is everything; she even left her studies to focus entirely on her sporting career. Although the budgets and prizes in this category are not millionaire like those in F1, $1.2 million in prizes are distributed throughout the season, in addition to $250,000 for the champion at the end.
